Carrie's Candle

Yearbook Memories

Carrie and I were on the yearbook staff senior year and I have to say I looked forward to that class everyday. Most of my memories of that class were of her and me sitting at our computers, "working", but really just talking about whatever was on our minds that day. Some random topics of the day/ events that I remember:

-She spent a whole period freaking out about whether or not Clark would accept her late scholarship application; we basically went back and forth for 45 minutes weighing all the possible scenarios and I think we finally decided that they would accept her application (analyzing things was one of Carrie's favorite things to do).

-We talked about Kairos so much during the time she was preparing to lead. She told me stories about how she tricked people into believing she wasn't one of the leaders (fyi, kairos leaders are kept secret until the actual event). She was so incredibly excited to be leading.

-She was convinced that "Ignition Remix" was the best song ever, and not only did she download it onto her school computer to play during class, but she also played this not-quite-appropriate-for-school song for our yearbook moderator.

-Carrie would find ways to have to "interview" people who were at their lunch period during the yearbook class time, and whenever I'd go with her we'd somehow end up in the senior lounge, where our friends were having lunch.

There was probably something memorable from everyday we spent in that class together, although I can't call them to mind now. However, they were always the highlight of my day.
