Dear Carrie,

I never really got to spend that much time with you, besides those brief weekends at fountain point, and family outings and holidays, those awesome O'Mara holidays. Hey, remember when all the boys shaved their heads that one christmas for you? I wanted to offer my hair as a sign of love to you. And I asked you if it would make you happy, and of course your suggestion was to keep my hair.

Anyway, I never knew you very well because i was a kid so focused on the trampoline in your backyard and not enough on you.

I hear stories today about your teenage years and problems, They are very much like mine and I wish i could pull you into a room and talk to you about them. I am not a very religious person, but i talk to you sometimes, up in heaven, or wherever you are. I ask you for guidance, help, power. Power i know you had from seeing you fight for your life, for your family, for your friends.

You help me sometimes for the courage to love my enemies, and even harder, love myself.

I have one of your hats in my closet, it has purple and pale pink flowers on the side, they're beautiful, like you are.

Thankyou for being the best cousin a girl could ask for.
