Claire Wuellner
She pulls up in front of my house to take me to youth group. I have to run out to the car cause I have a dog, and as you all know, she just didn't get along with dogs in the best way. I hopped in, we start gabbing. "Are we getting John?" "Yeah," she says, and heads down Grant, turning on some music. It sounds like folk or country, so I start to sigh - and then I realize it's kids music and these two dorks who are singing... why, they're hilarious! And they start to sing about how many wheels are on a big rig (an 18-wheeler, in fact). She knows all the words, and these guys sing real fast. Then, the best part of the song comes on - they start counting in ROMAN NUMERALS! I freak out cause it's the coolest thing I've ever heard. We start the song over, we sing along, we screw up a lot. It's kinda harder to count to 18 in roman numerals. By the time we got to youth group though, we had that puppy mastered.
I can still do it, by the way. Count in roman numerals (in time, of course) to 18. Anytime that song pops in my head, so does my lovely Carrie. Miss you babe.
