Dad
"I'm in Germany now. I hardly got any sleep on the plane. Roland's house is so different from what I imagined. It's tall and narrow. I'm sharing a room with Nora. It's "less" here. The houses are smaller, and everything is crowded. Crowded and small. Not unbearable, not even worth complaining about, only a little noticeable. Chicago is really different, though I'm just used to it.
Tomorrow we are touring. I love this place! It's so different. Change is nice every now and then. It's fun, like I'm the last explorer. Gone with the Wind is exciting again! (knock on wood).
When I play with Roland's son, all I say is "yah, ser gut, nein" but he has fun. Hey, whatever works. BYE!
Luke is reading the book, "Jungle", and it describes, in detail, meat processing. Gross! He keeps trying to read it to me, but reads it to Scott instead, so I have to plug my ears. But it's a classic so I'll probably have to read it too.
It's 2:30 here and I'm in the car on the way to Rothenburg. Tonight I'm staying in the youth hostel. The tour book that described it said the staff was "groovy" and everyplace should be just like it. We have to be inside by 11:30, but after that, we don't have to turn the lights off. We went to the zoo today. The animals were very different. I listened to Italian on my walkman. I'm getting better at it.
Today we toured Rothenburg and shopped. It costs 2DM to send a postcard, so I'm going to use the postcards as giftcards and pictures. I bought a painting of a castle (DM12) and we went up to the bell tower. You can see the whole town from there!! Now we are going to see Mr. and Mrs. Keil's house. BYE!
So now we are in Salzburg. I'm at the youth hostel - much better than the last one! We walked around the city a little; I want to live here! It's the home of Mozart, so I'll get something for Asim. Oh! - I'm on p.661 in GWTW. BYE!
Tuesday we came from Salzburg, spent a lot of time in the car - blah! Then that night it rained and we sat out at the campfire. that was fun. A few nights ago, Nora and Milina were playing bowling. Scott said - "ser gut!" to Milina when she hit a pin. Nora leaned over and told Milina, "that means - thank you very much". HA!
Then yesterday we went to Munich. It was really cool!! We saw the glockenspiel at 5:00. I got my own clock for 29 marks - about $17. I love it and am really happy I bought it.
This morning we left the Keil's home and cam here to Innsbruck. It's really cool here. When we got to the hotel, I went shopping with Luke. I spent about $35 and got most of it done. I mostly got floating candles for friends. I got Shira a big sunflower one, and Julia a small sunflower and half apple. Jessica I got a fish candle, and she's also getting a couple of Mozart balls. I got Mrs. Derex a tulip floating candle. Alison and Julia M are getting bigger candles that wish them stuff like happiness and love. I also got Kate some chocolate and myself a wallet. I like it a lot but got gypped changing money.
I'm tired. goodnight! Gooten-nacht, buena noche. BYE!
